Gear of the Day: $4000 THX Home Audio for only $300?

This is what some reviewers described the Logitech Z-5500. CNet gave it an excellent rating. This 5-piece wonder has no separate AV receiver but a small console containing the controls. The amplifier sits on the massive sub-woofer. There are 5 satellite speakers and a programmable remote control. You can connect your DVD players via the optical link to gain DTS and Dolby
Surround Sound. It supports 4 input device (DVD, Game System, MP3 and PC)

What is really interesting is that this baby is THX-certified - meaning that it's great hi-fi movie
and gaming system. This is ideal for those practical ears who wanted the Bose Lifestyle audio
quality for under $400.

Loserville No More?

The Dallas Stars are 2-0 in the first round of the NHL Playoffs. The first time in several years.

The Dallas Mavericks were struggling but they are making their 8th appearance to the NBA Playoffs - potentially as the 7th seed but that is in danger.

The Dallas Cowboys are building up!

but the Texas Rangers lose again, 7-4 against the Angels. Darn it!

Privacy as Contextual Integrity

Got this from Ali Saqib's Blog:

Couple of days ago Dr. Helen Nissenbaum of NYU gave an extremely interesting, engaging and stimulating lecture entitled "Privacy in Context" at UC Berkeley.

My first Dr Martens - The Lenny 8 Eye Shoes!

I never had a Dr Martens before. Probably because they're too big for me. Most of their shoes are wide and stout. Good thing, I found one that is quite to my tasting - stylish, suede/leather feel, comfortable and very unique. My kind of shoes. Got this at about 70 bucks. Pretty good deal.

Winter in April

Today, DFW got a late winter blast in April. Temperature went down up to 43F but wind chill is about 35F. So much for Spring!

Allergies are everywhere. I fell better but not good. My 3 Girls are also having their share of the allergies. Few more days and I'm ready for Spring training - Swimming, Biking, Basketball, BBQ, and lots of Gardening!

Mercedes Benz C300 and C350

My next car? Maybe and maybe not. I've been researching these 2 C-Class MBs for quite sometime now. The C class is quite affordable for the working man like me. The E-Series is too much (in the 50s) and the S-Series is OMG.

C300 when equipped with all the bells and whistles costs around $38K and the C350 starts at $35K and well-equipped at around $42. Both are powerful sleek German cars but Consumer
Reports gave these cars below than expected results. The Altima and the
Accord fared better.  However, branding is a different ballgame. The MBs are valued more than the Nissans and the Hondas. Let's look what the experts are saying about the C Class.
